Producers’ Workshop

Saturday, September 28th, 1 p.m., with Paul Mills – at Sound Market Recording Studio in Wolfville. This workshop is FREE and limited to 25 people … first come, first served.

Pre-register by emailing (subject line: Producers Workshop).

Leading up to this workshop, on Friday, September 27th, Paul Mills will also be giving a talk, together with Terry Pulliam, at Nova Scotia Community College Waterfront Campus, in Dartmouth.

For over 40 years Paul Mills has been a major presence on the Canadian folk music scene. Paul (aka Curly Boy Stubbs) wears many hats: musician, musical arranger, and record producer/engineer. He produced over 150 albums for performers, such as Stan Rogers; Sharon, Lois & Bram; Ron Hynes; Laura Smith’s latest; Naming The Twins; and Canadian Astronaut Chris Hadfield (from the International Space Station).

Terry Pulliam, also a notable music producer, teaches Recording Arts at the NSCC in Dartmouth. He also hosts a recording forum on Facebook called the Halifax Digital Audio Users’ Group, with free membership for anyone interested in music recording. He has recorded over 400 albums, including work by well-known artists like Lennie Gallant, Jimmy Rankin and Joel Plaskett. His expertise garnered a gold record with Halifax band Sloan.

When he did Sloan’s first recording sessions, Pulliam had his studio in his Halifax home. He and Kory Bayer now run Sound Market Recording Studio in Wolfville.
