Studio Z at the Al Whittle Theatre
The annual Deep Roots Music Cooperative AGM will be held on Sunday, January 29th from 2:00 to 4:00 PM in Studio Z at the Al Whittle Theatre. All members are invited to attend.
During the AGM the Board of Directors will be presenting two by-law amendments for a vote. The first will be to re-certify the membership policy previously passed in 2008. This is a formality required by the Cooperative Association.
The second will be a change to the bylaw pertaining to the amount of time that a Board Member can serve on the Board. DRM is also looking for DRM members who might be interested in being on the Board of the Deep Roots Music Co-operative.
Want to open your home to a young musician? As part of Mud Creek Days, Deep Roots Music Coop will be hosting their Emerging Artists: UNEARTHED program. Some of the participants (aged between 14 and 25) will be coming from outside of the Valley for the workshops beginning on 28th July with a performance on 31st July.

Deep Roots Music Festival is September 24-26, 2010. The Festival Committee is in high gear now. David has the line-up finalized and the fine details of scheduling are coming together now. We are still looking for a few good managers to be mentored this year and to continue next year, for the Green Team, the Kitchen and the Green Rooms team.

Deep Roots Music Cooperative received submissions for Emerging Artists ‘UNEARTHED’ from as far afield as Winnipeg and Connecticut. Open to musicians’ aged 14 to 25, ‘UNEARTHED’ offers 3 days of workshops with industry professionals, a performance at Festival Theatre in Wolfville as part of Mud Creek Days and a chance to perform on-stage at the 2010 Deep Roots Music Festival.

Welcome to our new website – we hope you’ll like it.
For starters, let me fill you in on some of the recent activities of the Cooperative. The DRMC Board of Directors, who oversee all of the undertakings of The Deep Roots Music Cooperative, has recently been going through a Strategic Planning Process with assistance from The Acadia Centre for Social and Business Entrepreneurship and funding from ACOA. This project is on-going as we work to develop a multi-year business plan. As well, we have been diligently working to broaden the scope of activities that take place annually under the umbrella of the Cooperative.
