The Deep Roots community loves to enjoy music all year round.
The Festival (the last full weekend in September) is the largest event in the Deep Roots year. Other activities throughout the year include concerts, dances, community meetings and potlucks … building community around music and having a good time in the process.
We are putting this year’s festival details together and more information will be available soon. In the meantime, to get a sense of what kind of event we create, check the link to our 2014 Festival and/or go into Archives to check years previous to last.
Every September, usually the last weekend of that month, the Deep Roots Music Cooperative brings an awesome blend of up-and-coming and tried-and-true performers to our the festival stages and free events for all ages.
The caliber of talent and the number of opportunities for audiences and performers to enjoy ‘homemade’ music has established the Deep Roots Festival as a Nova Scotia signature festival. During its 10 years, the festival has attracted thousands of enthusiastic music lovers and we’re not slowing down.
For a musical and cultural experience that will leave you buzzing with good memories, plan to be in Wolfville, Nova Scotia, for the next Deep Roots Music Festival – September 25 to 27, 2015!
In this area you’ll find information on other fundraising concerts and events throughout the year.
Presented at the Festival each September, the Valley Arts Award recognizes someone who is, or has been, a resident, has worked for the development and/or promotion of Valley artists, arts events, and/or culture; and has made a significant long-term contribution to the arts in the Valley. Nominations for the 2014 award are now being accepted.
Nominations should be in the form of a letter or e-mail outlining the contribution the individual has made to the cultural life of the region.
Acadia University is an essential partner in the continuing success of the Deep Roots Music Festival.
