WOLFVILLE, NS – The Deep Roots Music Festival is very excited to announce its line-up for 2016. The annual festival takes place September 22nd to 25th in Wolfville, Nova Scotia and surrounding area. This year’s line-up is well rooted in the Maritimes and boasts several new and interesting collaborations. A Festival Kick-off concert will feature a special acoustic performance by Classified (Juno Award winner) and David Myles (CBC East Coast Music Hour) – together on stage! ‘Early Bird’ passes are available until July 15th.
Your pass gets you into all main stage shows, afternoon collaborations, and access to the Festival Club as ‘home base’ for the weekend. Passes available for 3 or 4 Days (includes the Thursday night Kick-off Concert).
The Friday evening main stage at the Festival Theatre will spotlight our host Heather Rankin, an Acadia University graduate. Kim Dunn, whose songs will also be featured, will join her. Another collaboration to look forward to on Friday night is Susan Crowe and Cindy Church (Nova Scotia Country Music Hall of Fame) – bringing wisdom and grace to our stage. The night will include Wolfville returnee Alex Kehler (Les Siffleurs de Nuits) with his musical partner Nicholas Williams (Crowfoot, Genticorum) from Quebec.

We are delighted that Lennie Gallant will be on our Saturday main stage, September 24 as well as his nephew’s exciting band, PEI’s renowned Ten Strings and a Goat Skin. CBC Searchlight Contest national finalists, Hillsburn, a young group turning heads, will astound us with great songs, sibling harmony and incredible arrangements. To top it off another unexpected pairing, Matthew Barber and Jill Barber will join the fun with great pride and a healthy dose of brotherly and sisterly love to present The Family Album!
