Passes and Tickets to Opening Night Available post image

The Deep Roots Music Festival is pleased to announce that regular three-day and four-day passes, as well as tickets to our Thursday Night opening concert and film with Catherine MacLellan, are now available through, Ticketpro Outlets and by calling 1-888-311-9090.

Catherine MacLellan—the daughter of  Juno-award-winning songwriting legend Gene MacLellan—grew up surrounded by her father’s music.  Best known for his hits from the 1970s, including “Snowbird,” “Put Your Hand in the Hand” and “The Call”, Gene MacLellan gained national attention as one of the most brilliant songwriters in the Canadian music industry but he was never comfortable with being in the spotlight. After struggling with depression, MacLellan took his own life in 1995, when Catherine was 14. More than two decades after his loss, Juno award-winning songwriter Catherine MacLellan is revisiting her father’s past, trying to understand his life-long battle with depression. The National Film Board documentary The Song and the Sorrow directed by Millefiore Clarkes captures Catherine’s personal struggle to reconcile her family’s tragedy, confront the hurtful mystery of her absent parent and embrace his musical legacy, as well as break the silence surrounding mental illness.

At our opening night event, Catherine MacLellan will show and discuss the documentary and play some her father’s music as well as tunes from her own extensive catalogue.

Although our Early Bird passes are no longer available, our regularly priced passes are still a tremendous deal. Single event tickets to the 2019 Deep Roots Music Festival will go on sale on July 15th.

Stay tuned for more great news to come.
