Saturday 10am, Al Whittle; Saturday 3pm, Al Whittle (The Legacy Song Project)

Featuring the profound stories of 8 Atlantic Canadians, The Legacy Song Project: Atlantic Chapter is an exploration of death, dying, grief, loss, and love, through the transformational lenses of documentary film and songwriting.

Songwriter, Sarah McInnis, and filmmakers, Aly Kelly and Pat LePoidevin, teamed up to interview four people at end-of-life and four individuals/families who have lost loved ones, representing all four Atlantic provinces. In this evocative short film and live musical performance, they capture stories about the universal experience of loss and how songwriting can be used as a bridge to connect us with our loved ones, past and present. The resulting 8-song album, Threads, is a one-of-a-kind collection of songs, created from the deeply personal stories Sarah heard and features a wide-array of Nova Scotia-based artists, such as Aquakultre, Mark Riley, Mairi Chaimbeul, Catherine Little, and Tyler McDonald. After touring this project in Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Newfoundland, and Prince Edward Island in June 2023, this team is excited to bring this show back to their community of Wolfville, with special guest Valmy.
