We got funding from the provincial government, and Deep Roots will be hiring a summer student position – Assistant Festival Coordinator, to work from late May through August 31st. The Assistant Festival Coordinator is the hub of the entire Festival committee structure; work focuses on sponsor liaison, office management, communications, and database management.
The position is 35 hours per week and the wage is $17.25 per hour, plus 4% vacation pay. The working hours will normally be from 9 to 5, Tuesdays to Saturdays, although flex time may be required. You will be expected to attend festival committee meetings outside regular working hours. You are the main person keeping the office open and taking care of the physical space where others pop in. The office is in the Wolfville Curling Centre and there will be ongoing construction during the work term. To qualify for this position, you must be returning to post-secondary studies in September 2024.
